Could the reason why fathers aren’t embracing their children today be a result of the fact that their father never took the time to embrace them? Are we witnessing the outcome of a generational behavior, where habits were formed with one generation of men and passed on to the next? I have had numerous conversations with men, who shared that their fathers never shared a hug with them, that he never held them close. I can’t recall in all of the stories that my dad shared with me growing up that there was mentioned anything about an embrace from his father. This leads me to conclude that my father wasn’t unwilling to embrace me he just didn’t know how…..no man is capable of offering another person something that they don’t possess within themselves.
